Henkan suru (Transformation)

A set of paintings that result from drawn research of East Asian Ceramics, in particular Korean and Japanese. I have worked with the idea of lifting the glaze designs from the pot form; using single brush strokes I transform them in scale and perspective. The pot form is simplified into layers of Japanese papers.
